Brian Hughes currently leads Pressible Consulting LLC.
Before Pressible was a consulting group, it was a social publishing platform. From 2009 to 2019, the EdLab team at Columbia University developed Pressible (“version 1”) with platform-driven design and innovative technical capabilities, including:
- Multi-author, newsfeed-driven sites
- Reposting from any Pressible site (e.g., Tumblr-like sharing)
- Auto-generated related content links on post pages to posts on other Pressible sites with Reuters’ Open Calais API service.
After launching in 2009, we proceeded to experiment with various design and technical configurations. For nearly 10 years, Pressible provided a unique publishing tool for the University, as well as a wider audience of over 100,000 creators.
The following individuals were deeply involved in developing and supporting Pressible v.1: Eric Buth, Patrick Carey, Hui Soo Chae, Brian Hughes, Julia Martin, Molly Riordan, Zhou Zhou.
